  JANUS utilizes our scientific knowledge of model simulation, risk assessment and so on to engage in assisting the review and planning of air environmental measures while also venturing into new fields such as damage compensation risk assessment.

Air Pollution

  JANUS utilizes its scientific knowledge of model simulation, risk assessment and so on to assist in efforts to maintain and improve the air environment.
   For example, to consider measures against particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5), a global talking point these days, we require an understanding of emission sources, what sort of substances are emitted and in what state, how their advection and dispersion proceed, and whether they undergo chemical change or particulation. To assess the health impact of PM2.5, we need to check its distribution and time variation over a long period of time and to analyze this along with health data.
   At JANUS, we can help to review PM2.5 measures with various technologies such as an emissions inventory, chemical transport model simulation, health impact investigations, data analysis, and so on.

Atmospheric dispersion Simulation

  JANUS has conducted various kinds of dispersion analyses and impact assessments of pollutants using many atmospheric dispersion (air environment) models according to the purpose, including not only our own developed models but also those developed by universities and research institutes in Japan and overseas (ex. Mercure, CMAQ).
   JANUS supports the air pollution measures of our customers in various ways, not only carrying out a dispersion analysis and impact assessment in individual cases but also providing an assessment system that covers a whole series of operations (setting emissions information, processing and creating meteorological data, calculating advection and dispersion according to the form of emission sources, and displaying analysis and assessment results on a GIS system).
